College football has a Top 25 problem. Every offseason, every preseason and every fall, we rank teams because we feel obligated to fill out a list. But most years, by the time we get serious, we know the truth: not 25 teams can win the national championship. Not 25 teams belong in the playoff conversation. And if we’re being honest, not 25 teams matter at the highest level of the sport.
So Jason is doing something different. This is the first HOF Top 12+. The 12 teams he believes belong in the College Football Playoff conversation right now, plus the First Four Out — the teams close enough to complain, but not close enough to get in.
